Processing personal data at Martinsons
The Martinsons Group and its subsidiaries collect and use personal data in their various different businesses. It is important to us that you feel confident about the way your personal data is processed. We process personal data in accordance with good practice and current legislation.
Each company in the Martinsons Group is the data controller, which means that the companies are responsible for how your personal data is processed and for safeguarding your rights.
We process your personal data when you ask us for a quotation, because we have a legitimate interest in providing the quotation. If you buy our products or enter into a contract with us, we will process your data to fulfil our obligations as the other party to the contract. We will store your personal data while we have a reason for processing the quotations or because we need to comply with legal requirements, such as accounting legislation.
We sometimes use subcontractors to enable us to supply our products and services. As a result, they will also need to access your data or specific information relating to you as a customer. However, our subcontractors must not use your data for any other purpose than providing the service. They must always use the data in accordance with the terms that we specify.
Customer service cases
We process personal data as part of the management of customer service cases (including our chat function). These cases include questions, complaints and warranty claims. The data are processed to allow us to help you with your customer service case, which we have a legitimate interest in doing, and to fulfil our legal obligations with regard to complaints and warranty claims. We store customer service data relating to purchases and complaints for as long as we are obliged to do so to meet the requirements of legislation. Communications with our customer support team that we do not have to store to meet legal requirements are deleted when there is no longer a reason for processing them.
Newsletters and mailings
We process personal data in order to send out newsletters and marketing material via e-mail or post. These data are processed when you have chosen to subscribe to the newsletters or mailings or when we have a legitimate interest in sending direct marketing material to you. We store your contact details for this purpose until you actively ask us to end your subscription.
Visiting us and attending events
Martinsons will process your personal data if you visit us or take part in any of our events. We store your personal data for the purpose of managing your visit or the event. When we invite you to visit us or attend our events, we have a legitimate interest in processing your personal data. We only store your personal data while we have a reason for processing them.
At events that we organize or participate in, we photograph participants as we have a legitimate interest in informing our customers and partners about our business. We publish the images in our communication channels such as on our web and social media. If you do not want pictures of you published, you can of course contact our photographer on site or email us afterwards at GDPR@martinsons.se.
When we obtain sensitive personal data (for example, information about special dietary requirements), we ask for your consent before processing them. If we order special food, your personal data may be shared with the relevant restaurant. You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org. However, please note that by withdrawing your consent you do not affect the lawfulness of processing based on your consent before it was withdrawn. We will delete information about special dietary requirements after the event has ended.
